County severally Make Oath and say and first this
Deponant John Barkley< no role >
for himself Saith that on the
Twenty Seventh day of August last he this Deponant
caused the Notice of Trial hereunto annexed to be made
for him this Deponant to serve on the above named
prosecutrix Jane Dirieux in Order to take his Trial at
this present Session on the Indictment preferred against
him by the said Prosecutrix And this Deponant for that
purpose went to several places after the said Jane Dirieux
the prosecutrix and in particular to Jermyn Street
in
the said County her last place of abode in order to serve
her with the said Notice of Trial But this Deponant
was informed by a person in the House and which
Information he believes to be true that the said Prose
cutrix was done out of Town and did not know when
she would be in Town And this Deponant humbly
prays this Honorable Court will for the reasons
aforesaid grant an Order that his recognizance may
be respected until the next Session And in the mean time
that service of a Notice of Trial at the said Prosecutrix
last place of abode be deamed a good service on the said
Prosecutrix this Deponant being unable to meet with
the said prosecutrix to serve her with such Notice
And this Deponant William Kettle< no role >
for himself
saith that he has made diligent inquiry after the
said prosecutrix and particularly of Mr Clarkson who
he understood was Attorney for the said Prosecutrix
who informed this Deponant she was gone into the
Country and he beleived would not return for sometime
