That your Petitioner was on or about the 27th day of<lb></lb>
September last past convicted in the Penalty of Ten Pounds by <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50838_n44-1">William Hyde</rs>

for the said County for that your<lb></lb>
Petitioner being a Person Licensed to let out Horses to hire for the purpose<lb></lb>
of travelling post by the Mile & from Stage to Stage & residing within 5 Miles<lb></lb>
of the Head Office for Stamps did not nor would on the 17th, 18th, 19th, or 20th days<lb></lb>
of Sepr. 1788 being the time appointed for that purpose by the<lb></lb>
Commissioners for putting in Execution a certain Act of Parliament<lb></lb>
made & passed in the 25th. Year of the Reign of his present Majesty<lb></lb>
"Intitled an Act for repealing Duties on Licences taken out by Person<lb></lb>
letting Horses for the purpose of travelling Post & Altho' Pulblic Notice<lb></lb>
thereof was given in the Gazette bring in or deliver to <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50838_n44-2">John Serjeant</rs>

being the Person appointed by the said Commissioners for the purpose of<lb></lb>
receiving the same at the Office appointed for the reception of the Duty<lb></lb>
on Lost Horses the Accounts (that is to say) the Stamp Office Weekly<lb></lb>
Accounts in that Behalf directed in and by the said Act of Parliament for<lb></lb>
the 4 Weeks ending on the Saturday preceeding such days of delivery but<lb></lb>
therein failed and made default.</p>
<p n="45">And your Petitioner thinking himself aggrieved thereby<lb></lb>
humbly begs leave to appeal from such Conviction And<lb></lb>
that you will please to appoint a Day in the present<lb></lb>
Session for that purpose.</p>
