Benjamin Littlewood< no role > of Rosemary Lane in
the Parish of Saint Mary Whitechapel in the County of
Middlesex Smith and Lawrence Connor< no role > of the
same Place Labourer Both Make Oath and Say And
first the said Benjamin Littlewood< no role > for himself
Saith that in September Session last He this
Deponent was Indicted by the above named Prosecutrix
for an Assault That in the same Session He this
Deponent put in Bail and Pleaded not Guilty to the
said Indictment And this Deponent further Saith that
in a Short time after the said Session He this Deponent
applied to one Harding in Angel Gardens Shadwell in
Order to be Advised what Steps was Necessary to be taken
for his Deponent's Defence to the said Indictment
that the said Harding then drew up a Notice and delivered
the same to the other Deponent Lawrence Cannon to serve
and this Deponent Lawrence Conner for himself
Saith that He in Company with the said Defendant went
in Search of the said Prosecutrix and Made every Enguiry
in there power but to no Effect not being able to find
out where she the said Prosecutrix was then to be found
And this Deponent Benjamin Littlewood< no role > further
Saith that He then Applied to the said Harding and
Informed him that He this Deponent Could not find
Said Prosecuitrix to serve her with the said Notice
Where upon said Harding applied (as this Deponent
has been Informed and believes) to this Honourable Court to
respite the Recognizance of this Deponent and his
Bail untill this Present Session and that Service of
a Notice of Trial at the last Place of abode of Said
Prosecutrix might be deemed good Notice for a motion to
to that Effect) which this Honourable Court was Pleased to
