<p n="31">I HAVE the Honour to acquaint you by Order of a General Meeting of His Ma-<lb></lb>
jesty's <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50823_occ8">Justices of the Peace</rs>

for the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50823_geo9">County of Middlesex</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50823_geo9" type="placeName" value="County of Middlesex"></interp>

, held on Wednesday<lb></lb>
the 20th Day of June Instant, for the Purpose of taking into Consideration his<lb></lb>
Majesty's late Proclamation, and also a Letter received from the Right Honourable<lb></lb>
Lord Sydney, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, That it was a-<lb></lb>
mongst other Resolutions come to at that Meeting, resolved as follows, viz.</p>
<p n="32">"That it be recommended to the several Magistrates of this County, to confer<lb></lb>
"with the Minister, Parish Officers, and Principal Inhabitants in their respective<lb></lb>
"Districts, touching the Causes of the several Enormities mentioned and alluded to<lb></lb>
"by His Majesty's Proclamation, and that the said Magistrates do, to the utmost of their<lb></lb>
"Power, co-operate with them in pursuing the most Effectual Measures for the im-<lb></lb>
"mediate Correction and Suppression of such Enormities."</p>
<p n="33">"And that it be recommended to the Justices attending the Licensing of Public-<lb></lb>
"Houses, to pay a particular Attention to the Character, and Conduct of the Pub-<lb></lb>
"licans within their respective Divisions, that they do their utmost Endeavours to<lb></lb>
"obtain a true and Impartial Account of each particular Public House, within their<lb></lb>
"respective Divisions, and of the Manner in which it has been conducted, during<lb></lb>
"the preceeding Year, to be laid before them at a General Meeting, to be held by<lb></lb>
"them for the Purpose of examining the same."</p>
