Order for the
better observance
of Good Friday
as usual}


It is Ordered that 1250 Copies of the order made at the General
Quarter Session of the peace held for this County in the Month of April
1777 for the decent and Religious Observance of Good Friday be printed and
Good Friday Orderproperly distributed throughout this County

Mr. Stirling having informed the Court that
the Servants of the Governor of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell
that suffered John Mc Neal< no role > (who was committed to the House
of Correction as a Rogue & Vagabond) to escape attended the
Court in pursuance of the Order made on the last adjournment
day for that purpose

Mr.. Harwood the Governor of the House of
Correction was called in & informed the Court-That Benjamin
Nash
< no role > was directed to bring the Prisoner Mc Neal into Court
that Nash attends at the Rotation office in Whitechapel Staples Office-That he (Mr Harwood)
pays him 6s Per Week-That Nash alledged to him that
the Man said he was faint & wanted something to Drink
& that Nash carried him unto a Room in a publick House
that Nash said he wanted to make water & that he left Mr.
Markwick [..] with the Prisoner, that Markwick [..] being sent for
for the Night Charges he turned his Back & that in the mean
time the Prisoner slipped away. The Prisoner was taken
up for felony & sent to New Prison , but the charge not
being made out he was detained as a Rogue & Vagabond
having a Pistol in his possession

Benjamin Nash< no role > was next called in who said
he brought the Prisoner from Clerkenwell Bridewell -That
the Prisoners wife desired he would let the Prisoner
Drink, he went to the Bell publick House & wanting to make water
