Middlesex County Sessions House
At a very numerous Meeting of his Majestysthe Justices of the peace
for the County assembled this Day (as consequenceof an Advertisemt. published by order of Sessions) for the purpose of the King
into Conscon a Bill intended to be brought into parliament
intitled "A Bill for the further prevention of crimes and
"for the more Speedy Detection and punishment of Offenders
"agt. the peace in the Citys [..] of London and Westminster , the
"Borough of Southwark and certain parts adjacent to
"them" a printed Copy of which Bill was read to this meeting
and follg Resolutions were agreed to

[..] unanimouslyresolved Unanimously that it is the Opinion of this
meeting, that the appointment of a new Body of persons to be
stiled Commissioners of Police, intended by the said Bill to be
invested with powers and Authority is hereto fore unknown in they
Country, is in pedient and totally unnecessary; that the creating
[..] with the powers [..] thereby given will be and dangerous Innovation and Encroachment in the Right in
Security of the people, and will annihilate the ancient and Contituting
Office of a Justice of the peace , within the intended district of the Metropolis
port

Resolved Unanimously by that it is the Opinion of the mating
that it would contribute greatly to the Honour and dignity of the office
of a Justice of the peace in this Metropolis if no Money or other Recompense by Wap of
