I am directed by His Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the
County of Middlesex
in Session Assembled to send you a Copy of the following
Recommendation which has been approved of in the General Quarter Session of the
Peace and Session of Oyer and Terminer Vizt
It is recommended that His Majestys Justices of the Peace
"if this County do take care that no person who keeps a Publick Alehouse be Sworn
"before them into the Office of Petty Constable or Head borough; and also to suppress every
"Beadle within their respective Divisions that keeps an Alehouse agreable to [..]
"Order of Session of February 1694" and I am commanded by them to acquaint you
that is their unanimous Opinion that a due Observance of this [..] Recommendation
would be of great Advantage to the Publick in general and therefore they beg leave
to request your very strict attention to it in the Appointment and Swearring in of
Constables for the ensuing Year
