To the Worshipful His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County
of Middlesex in their General Session of the Peace assembled -

The Humble Petition and Appeal of the Honorable
Catharine Talbot< no role > of the Parish of Hillingdon in the County
of Middlesex Widow against such Part of the Rate lately
made for the Relief of the Poor of the said Parish of Hillingdon
as respects the Message or Tenement Outhouses Lands
and Premises which your Petitioner now occupies and
resides in

Sheweth

That the usual Mode of Rating and assessing the Inhabitants
in the said Parish of Hillingdon to the Poors Rate which hath been
practiced for several Years past is in the proportion of These four the
of the Rent of Premisses respectively rated

That the House Land and Premisses occupied by your Petitioner
in the said Parish is Precisely the same as in the precxing Years
without any Addition or Encrease whatsoever and for which she
used to be rated at £95 being the Proportion of Three four the of
the Rent of such Premisses in case the same had been let to a Tenant
at Will or other wise

That the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
have lately made a Rate for the Relief of the Poor thereof and have
rated and assessed Your Petitioner to such Rate at £120 P Annum
as three fourths of the Rent of her said House Land and Premisses
which is greatly more than she concieves she ought to Pay not
having made any Improvement thereon for several Years and
therefore appeals to this Court against the same

Your Petitioner therefore prays that the benefit of her
said Appeal may be saved unto her unto the next
general Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden
in and for the said County And that your Worships
will appoint a Day in the said next Session of the
Peace for the hearing and determining her said.
Appeal requiring all Parties concerned to attend the same.
