WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the
Quorum), by the Church-wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields , in the
said County, That Jane Porter< no role > Wife of James Porter< no role >
otherwise James Pearson< no role > (gone from her) and her two
Children by her said Husband Vizt. William James< no role > aged
Eleven years and upwards and George< no role > aged about
Six years and six Months are
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to Settle
there, contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the
said Justices, and we do adjudge that they are likely
to become chargeable to the said Parish; and upon Exa-
mination of the Premises taken upon Oath, and other Cir-
cumstances, it further appeareth unto us, and we do like-
wise adjudge, that the Parish of Saint Mary Lambeth
in the County of Surrey
is the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said James Porter< no role > otherwise James
Pearson
< no role > and his said Wife and two Children.

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields , forth-
with to remove and convey the said Jane Porter< no role > and
her said two Children
from the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields , to the
said Parish of St. Mary Lambeth
and deliver them to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, who are
hereby required to provide for them according to Law.
Given under our Hands and Seals the 23rd Day
of October 17 84.


To the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the respective Parishes of
Saint Giles in the Fields , in the County
of Middlesex , and Saint Mary Lambeth
in the County of Surrey
and to all other Officers whom it may
concern.
