the same being agreed to the Letters were Opened and read and are
as follows vizt.

"An Advertisement having appeared in the public prints
"purporting that a plan or plans for an House of Corrections would be
"this day taken into Consideration and having at leisure intervals
"formed a design for such purpose Supposed it would neither be thought
"improper or unseasonable to lay seen plan before your should its merits
"at all inside it to your attention I shall be extremely happy in having
"filled up some vacant some vacant have to a good purpose and shall think
"myself highly honoured if called upon to enter into a particular Explanation
"of the design

Letter of Mr. Buttingham
respecting a plan of a
House of Correction formd.

"To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of
"Middlesex in their General Quarter Session of Ye. peace holden for the said
"County in the month of July 84 assembled

Mr Brettingham Architect understanding that it is in
"Contemplation of His Majesty's Justices of Peace to build a new
"House of Correction for this County humbly begs leave to submit their
"Inspection a plan for that buildings"

A Motion was new made that the Report and Plans be
referred back to the Committee to reconsider the same and that the
observations made the won by Mr Howard as Reported by Sur Robert
Taylor
< no role > together with the plans now produced marked C and D be also
referred to the Committee for their Consideration and the same being
Unanimously agreed to was resolved Accordingly
