And the said Petitions and Certificates being read

Ordered that the Election be by Ballot to commence at the
[..] of one and Close at the hour of Three precisely

A Motion was made that the following question be asked
[..] to Vizt Whether he is a Workman in the Building
Branch as well as a Surveyor and the same being agreed to

Resolved that such of the Petitioners as are Workmen in the
Building Branch as well as Surveyors be not admitted as Candidates
to succeed the said Thomas Sutton< no role > unless they engage to relinquish
within a reasonable time all and every employment as Workman
in the Building branch.

Whereupon the several Candidates appearing the said
Question was separately put to them when Francis Gray< no role > William Thomas< no role >
William Wickings< no role > Richard Fleming< no role > and John Matthews< no role >
severally declared they were Surveyors and not Workmen in the Building Branch
The said John Jobbins< no role > declared he was a Workman in the Building
Branch and that he would not relinquish that employmt. The said
Joseph Carter< no role > declared that he was a Surveyor and a Workman in the Building
Branch but that he would relinquish all employmt. on a workman with. Buildg branchthe samein case he should
succeed to the said Office;

Resolved thatthis Courthis Majestys Justices of the Peace do now proceed to Ballot

Joseph Girdler< no role > Joseph Faikney< no role > Jacob Leroux< no role > Nicholas Foster< no role > Esqrs.
were appointed Scrutineers to examine the sameand the said [..] .
Ballot being Closed

It is Ordered that the Clerk of the Peace do attend the Scrutineers
and that they do withdraw with the Ballot to examine the same
