Middlesex
For the Crown.
The King
agst.
Robert Carpenter< no role >
and
Ann< no role >
his Wife
and
John Carpenter< no role >
.
On the 8th of April 1783 The Defendants were
committed for Coining Counterfeit Shillings and six pences
and a Recognizance Entered into by John Wallis< no role >
and
others to prosecute before the sitting Magistrates in
Bow Street
.
A very material Witness for the Crown has
Absconded, and cannot be found so that we cannot
support a Prosecution against the above named Persons,
but we have preferred two several Bills of Indictment
which are found against Ann Carpenter< no role >
and John
Carpenter< no role >
for Uttering Counterfeit shillings and they
are to be tryed at the Sessions for Middlesex
.
Please to move that the Recognizance Entered
into may be discharged, and that the Court will
made an Order for Ann Carpenter< no role >
and John
Carpenter< no role >
to be immediately removed from
Newgate
to Clerkenwell
Bridewell
that they
may be tryed on the Indictments found against
them.
