At a General Meeting of his Matys
Justices of the peace for the County of Middx
holden at the Session house for the sd County
on Fielding the 1st. day of Novr. 1782

Present Etc.

William Mainwaring< no role > Esquire Chairman of the Sessions of the peace
for this County laid before the meeting a Letter received by him from the
Right Honorable Thomas Townshend< no role > Esqr. one of his Majestys
Principal Secretaries of State of which the following is a Copy.

Resolved that in Order to carry into effectual Execution his Matys
Commands contained in the above Letter the several Justices of the
peace acting in this County will meet in their several Divisions
and hold Petty Sessions frequency andat unstated timescall the
High Constables Petty Constables and other proper persons before
them and to their Assistance as Occasion shall require and issue
search Warrants from time to time for apprehending Rogues and
Vagabond and Idle and Disorderly persons and that they will
do their utmost endeavours to suppress Disorderly [..] Houses and
public Gaming Houses and particularly that the Conduct of those
who keep Alehouses and other publick Houses Licenced to sell
Beer and Ale shall be strictly attended to and if it shall
happenappear that they are Guilty of any acts whereby their Licences
are become forfeited, that such persons shall be dealt with
according to law.

Resolved that the Justices of the peace acting for the several
Divisions in and near adjoining to the Metropolis will meet
atseperate proper placesthe following places for the purpose of carrying into
Execution the above Resolution after wch. they will Subdivide themselves in such manner as shall be judged necessary the Justices acting for

Holborn Division at St Giles's Vestry Room on Monday
the 4th. day of November Instant at 5 o Clock in the
Afternoon precisely.

Tower Division at the Sign of the Crown at Mile End
tomorrow at 2 o Clock in the afternoon.
