To the Alderman of the Ward of

These are to require you to cause a Wardmote to be Summoned
and held in some convenient place within your said Ward, on such day
and Hour as to you shall seem meet; and that you cause the several
Constables within your said Ward to be then and there present; and
that you also cause the Order of Session, hereunto annexed, to be openly
and publickly read at the said Wardmote, and to be delivered to the
proper Constable or Constables of your said Ward, for his or their due
and immediate Execution of the said Order: And these are further
to require you to cause such assistance to be given to the said Order
shall be intrusted, in taxing and assessing the Inhabitants and
Dwellers within your said Ward; and levying and Collecting the
Monies by virtue of the said Order to be Collected within your said
Ward as to you and the Inhabitants of your said Ward in your
said Wardmote assembled shall seem most effectual for the speedy
levying and Collecting such Monies and securing the same
until the same shall be paid into the Chamber of London pursuant
to the said annexed Order so that the same shall be levied-
Collected and paid in within the times respectively fixed for those
purposes by the same Dated the Seventh day November 1781.

N.B By That 27 Eliz. cap 13. & 5 It is Enacted That if any an
"Inhabitant of any Parish shall obstinately refuse and deny to
"pay the said Taxation and assessment so by the Constables or
"Constable taxed and assessed that then it shall and may be
"lawful to and for the said Constables, within their limits and
"Jurisdictions, to distrain all and every Person and persons
"so refusing and denying by his and their Goods and Chattels;
"and the same distress to sell and the Money thereof coming to
"retain to the use aforesaid, and if the Goods of Chattels so distrained
"and sold shall be of more value than the said Taxation shall
"come unto that then the residue of the said Money over and above
"the said Taxation shall be delivered unto the said Person or
"Persons so distrained"
