Middlesex


At a Meeting of the Committee of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex appointed to carry into Execution the
Rebuilding such part of Chertsey Bridge as the
within the County of Middlesex holden at Hicks
Hall in Saint John Street by adjournment.) on
Saturday the Twentieth day of October 1781.

Ordered that Mr. John Benson< no role > the Treasurer of and for
County of Middlesex do and he is hereby required forthwith upon sight
hereof do pay unto Mr. Charles Brown< no role > the Contractor for Building
New Bridge of Stone across the River Thames in live of the present
ancient Timber Bridge called Chertsey Bridge the sum of Two
Hundred Pounds being a Moiety payable to the said Charles B [..]
by his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the County of Middlesex under
Certificate from the Architects to the said Committee according to the [..]
of the Contract entered into by the said Charles Brown< no role > with his Majesty's
Justices of the peace for the Counties of Middlesex and Surrey for building the
said Bridge.
