Hath at this present Session Exhibited his Petition<lb></lb>
setting forth That in the month of October last the Petitioner was seised with an<lb></lb>
Inflamation on his Lungs and was confined to his Room near three months under the<lb></lb>
care of Dr Pitcairn his Physician and Mr Fowle his Apothecary both of whom<lb></lb>
entertained but small hopes of his recovery That the Petitioner in consequence of a<lb></lb>

and represented that the<lb></lb>
present State of his health was such as rendered him incapable of performing the Duties<lb></lb>
of that Office But it was insisted by some of the Officers then present that he should<lb></lb>
either be sworn or pay the fine and he being totally unacquainted with matters of<lb></lb>
this Nature and conceiving the Fine to be very considerable and his Circumstances<lb></lb>
in adequate to the payment of it He was prevailed upon to take the Oath and was<lb></lb>
Sworn accordingly That altho the Petitioner finds himself approaching to the<lb></lb>
establishment of his health Yet he is far from being perfectly recovered and is<lb></lb>
very apprehensive that the discharge of the Duties annexed to the Office of Head borough<lb></lb>
will be more than he can perform and the Petitioner is advised by his Physician and<lb></lb>
Apothecary that a Relapse of his disorder will be attended with very dangerous<lb></lb>
Consequences to him That the Petitioner would most willingly Execute the Office of<lb></lb>
Headborough in person if his health would permit and is ready to offer a proper<lb></lb>
