the Wife of David Dunn< no role > & their Five Children

To be heard at Hicks Hall in St. John Street Thursday ye Sept 1780

Brief for the Respondts.

Barbara the Wife of David Dunn< no role > a Soldier in the 3d
Regimt. of Footguards and their two Children to wit Alexr.< no role > aged
between 6 & 7 Years And Margaret< no role > Aged between 4 & 5 Years were by
Virtue of an Order of Two Justices dated the 21 day last Removed from
St. Mary le strand to St. James Westmr as the place of their last leagal
Settlement Against which order the Parish of St. James hath
Appeald.

The Order in Question was made upon an Examination
of the Pauper upon Oath wherein she deposed

That she was lawfully married to her said Husband
David Dunn< no role > in the Parish Church of Darking in Surry on
or about the 12th. day of April in the Year 1768 and That her said
Husband gained his last legal settlement in the Parish of saint
James in the said liberty of Westminster and County of Middlesex
by Renting and Dwelling in a House in Edward Street five Year
or upwards at the Yearly Rent of £30 And that her sd. Husband
quitted the said House about five years ago since which Time
he had not Rented a House or Tenement of £10 or upwards P Annun
nor paid the Land Tax or any other Tax nor had he gained a
legal Settlement in any other manner to her Knowledge or belief
And That her two Children to wit Alexr.< no role > Aged between 6 & 7 Years
And Margaret< no role > Aged between 4 & 5 Years were the true & legitimate
Children of her sd Husband by her the Examinant And that her sd.
Husband about 7 Weeks then ago went to Grocer Hall where he then
still was upon Duty as the Examinant believed
