Middlesex Sessions


The King on the Prosecution of
David Thomas< no role >
against
Richard Edwards< no role >
for an Assault

James Stephen< no role > of Stroud Green in th Parish
[..] in the County of Middlesex Gentleman
Maketh Oath that he was employed by Richard
Edwards
< no role > the Defendant abovenamed who are sides in the
County to manage and Conduct for him his Defence in this
Cause and to bring on the traverse to be tried at this
present Session pursuant to the Recognizance entered
into by the said Defendant But this Deponent Saith
that he omitted to give the proper and Legal Notice to
the Prosecutor for trying the said traverse at the present
Sessions by reason that the same escaped this Deponent
Memory nor did this Deponent recolled the same till
the last Day on which such Notice by right should
have been given to be in due time for the present Session
And this Deponent Saith that it was then
too late to serve the said Notice on the said Prosecutor
because the said Prosecutor has as this Deponant has
heard and believes no settled Place of Abode nor
is to be found but on diligent and laborieun
Enquiry nor did this Deponent then know where
or of whom to enquire concerning him so as to
discover his place of abode at that time or to serve
him with the Notice aforesaid. And this
Deponent further Saith that had he caused
