and first this Deponent

Saith that he Entred into three different
Recognizances for the Appearances of
Elizabeth Berry< no role >
Mary Curtis< no role >
and
Ann Edwards< no role >
in April Session last and Saith that the said
Elizabeth Berry< no role >
Mary Curtis< no role >
and
Ann Edwards< no role >
being Girls of the Town and fearing they
would not discharge their Recognizances and this Deponent being engaged
in Business applied to the other Deponent about Twelve o'Clock on Saturday
the last day of the said April Session to go to Hicks Hall and discharge
all the Said Recognizances and for that purpose gave him half a Guinea
and in the Evening when he returned the gave this Deponent two Shillings
and Six pence Change out of the Same, and at the Same time Informed
this Deponent that he had Paid the Other Eight Shillings for discharging
the said Recognizances which this Deponent verily believes he did as he is
a Man of very honest Principles and the Other Deponent

Saith that On a Saturday about the Middle of April last that the other
Deponent

applied to him to go to Hicks Hall that Afternoon to
Discharge the above mentioned three Recognizances which he did, and about four
o' Clock that afternoon he heard the Name of
Elizabeth Berry< no role >
called first and
imediately after he heard the Name of
Mary Curtis< no role >
called and imediately
Answered to them both and Gave half a Guinea to a Tall young Man in
Court who Weighed it and whilst he was Weighing it, this Deponent told him
he had another Recognizance to discharge for
Ann Edwards< no role >
, and told him
to take for the discharge of all the three Recognizances out of the half Guinea
which the Gentleman did and returned this Deponent two Shillings and
Six pence and the Gentleman that had she Book before him told this
deponent they were All Discharged and when this Deponent got home
he returned the said two Shillings and Six pence to the other Deponent
