At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden for
the County of Middlesex at Hicks-Hall in Saint John Street in the said County (by Adjournment) on
Thursdaythe Twenty second Day of April in the thirteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Hamlet of Mile End Old Town in
in the Parish of Saint Dunstan at Stepney in the said County Have at this present Session
Exhibited their Petition and Appeal setting forth That by Virtue of an Order of Pass Warrant
under the Hands and Seals of Sir James Esdaile< no role > Knight and Cad. Coker< no role > Esquire Two of his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Middlesex (one of them being of
the Quorum) bearing date the Third day of March last George Brown< no role > and Ann < no role > his Wife and
their four Children namely George < no role > aged about Nine Years Elizabeth < no role > aged [..] about
Seven Years, William < no role > aged about three Years and Mary < no role > aged about Two Months were removed
from the Parish of Saint Luke in the said County to the said Hamlet of Mile end Old Town
as the place of their last legal Settlement Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves
to be aggrieved Whereupon at the Request of the Churchwardens and overseers of
the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke and upon their some or one of their paying
unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Hamlet of Mile End
Old Town some or one of them the Sum of Thirty Shillings for Costs It is Ordered
that the hearing and determining thereof be and the same is hereby adjourned until
the next General Session of the Peace to be holden for this County And that they
and all persons concerned Do attend the Court at Hicks-Hall aforesaid on
Thursday the Twenty seventh Day of May next to hear and abide the
Judgment and Determination of the said Court touching the said Appeal
