WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the County of
Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum), by the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Saint Giles in the Fields in the said County,
That Martha Nicholson< no role > Singlewoman
aged about thirty years is
lately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to Settle
there, contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the
said Justices, and we do adjudge that she is likely
to become chargeable to the said Parish; and upon Exami
nation of the Premisses taken upon Oath, and other Cir
cumstances, it further appeareth unto us, and we do
likewise adjudge, that the Parish of Saint
Botolph without Bishopsgate
London is the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said Martha Nicholson< no role >

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of Saint Giles in the fields
forthwith to remove and convey the said Martha Nicholson< no role >
and her female Bastard Child named Sophia< no role >
aged about Six weeks for Nurture
from the said Parish of Saint Giles in the fields
to the said Parish of Saint Botolph
and deliver them to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, who are here
by required to provide for them according to Law. Given
under out Hands and Seals the 14th. Dey of
February 17 71

To the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the respective Parishes of
Saint Giles in the fields
in the County of Middlesex ,
and Saint Botolph with out
Bishopsgate London
and to all other Officers whom it may
concern.
