Thomas Broughton< no role > Steward to the Right Honble Lord Baltimore
being Sworn and Examined Upon his Oath Saith, That on Monday the
20th.. Day of Decer last about 12 o'Clock at Night, or near one o'Clock the
next Morning, As this Dept. was coming Down Southampton Row, to the
said Lord Baltimore's Houses, the said Lord Baltimore and some other Pons
were coming home in his Lordships Coach, And this Dept. also then saw
Mr. Marsden Clerk to Sr. John Fielding< no role > and another person with him
Standing near the gates of the Court yard belonging to the said
Lord H: House, and when the said Gates were Opened for the said
Coach to come in, and the Coach had got through the same into the Yard this
Dept. Saw Ewd. Gibbons< no role > his Lordships late Porter Deced Shut one
of the said Gates, and as the said Gibbons was [..] to Shut
the other gate the said Mr. Marsden prevented him by pushing agst.
mentd. gate into the said yard, and this Deponent then expostulated
with the said Mr. Marsden and asked him what Business or Authority
he had to force himself into his Lordships yard at that time in the
Night, but the said Mr. Marsden made this Dept. no Answer, and
Still persisted in forcing his way through the said gate, And Did
at last with Violently pushing agst. the said gate with both
hands, force the same open, and went into the said yard, and
the said other person and this Dept. then followed them : But this
Deponent Saith that he did not see any Blows pass between the said
Mr. Marsden, and the said Gibbons or any other person
