taken before me this 18th.. day of August 1767
Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said
James Draper< no role >
for himself saith that last Saturday
Senight he let two Horse to wit a Bay Horse and a
grey one to two Persons recomended by a Person now
present who calls himself John Brooks< no role >
, says that the said Horses
were hired to go to the three Tuns at Uxbridge
and return
the same Night, says that the said Horses were not brought
home untill the Thursday following at 12 and then by a
Stranger, says that on Friday last he saw one Spooner at the lodgings
of the aforesaid Brooks in Kings Street Carnaby Market
who
acknowledged himself to one of the Persons that hired
his horses as aforesaid and who haid him two Guineas
in part of three pounds for their Hire, says that on Wednesday
last he went to Justice Spinnager
in Arg [..] Buildings and told him he had
Lott two Horses to two young Men for a day who had not
returned them, that the next day he found out the aforesaid
Brooks and took him before the said Justice And this

for himself saith that last Friday
Senight one RobertJohnSpooner< no role >
and one John Cooper< no role >
came to him
and told him they wanted a Horse the next day he recomended
them to the aforesaid Mr. Draper who lett them two says that he has
known the said Spooner who is a Cabinetmaker about twelve
Months, and known Cooper some time as Spooner's Companion
only that Cooper is a [..]
