They all at that juncture of Time seem'd to be very friendly
but 3 Tyles being wanting to finish the Hearth Shelmerdine
went into the brick field & brot. themThe Tyles had been
[..] brought to the door abt. a week beforeThat them
bricklayer wanting the Tyles to finish inquired after them
& Shelmerdine sd. he [..] nothing of them, upon wch.
the decd. said he wd. both him who had them for a Pot of BeerThe Pot
was brot. inThe deced then sd. to the Bricklayer you are
positive you left them at the door, that Bricklayr . said yes,
why them says the deced You had them, but had not
the Sense to Keep them therethe Bricklayr . went wth.
Shelmerdine into the bar room todomend the Pleastring
there & white wash the roomThat the Deced Sold the
witness the Brickleyr. ne'd him mony & he wd. Ge & ask
him for ithe Got up & went to the Bricklayer & asks
him for ithe gt. it had been owing 3. or 4. yr. & that
it was time it was paidThe Brickleyr. Answrd. the
Wager was not determin'd yetthe deced replied
you gave Orders for the. Burkt. expect you to Pay
for it. they Etc. not then agres upon itupon wch. the
the last them sd. he the bricklayr. Pay me the little Score
you one me upon yr. own Acct. & up at it were by & told
him he wd. put him into the Court of Conscience for it
along wth. 2 or 3 others for 21st. he was going to Town. That
upon this Shelmerdine took it up & told the deced that it
he ought not to have ask'd a man for a Debt in a public
