Ralph Potts< no role > before mentioned Saith that Tuesday Night about
half an hour after Eight his Wife having complained to him of hearing
a Horse at Mrs. Bensier at not Door she went to see what was
the Matter and soon afterwards she Came back to him and said
these was somebody Murdering Mrs Bensie Upon which he
went and burst open the DoorThat as soon as he
put his Knee to the Door he heard somebody run up stairy
And so soon as he got the Door open he heard the glass of
the Window up One pair of Hairs falling out
That he did not Peep thr'o the Key hole and saw nothing
at all of the Person who had been in the Room
That when he got into the Room there was no other Light
than that of the Fire which was a pretty good One
That he found Mrs Bensie standing up right agt. her Bed
with her Hair about her Ears and her Cap on the Floor
That he did not ask her any Question at all and she did
not attempt to speakThat there was a Razor upon the
Floor turn'd quite back and very bloody and a poker wth was
Bent about the middleThat when a candle was brought
he went up Stairs and found that some Person had burst thro'
the One pair of Stairs Window and let themselves down upon
some Tiles underneath and dropt into an Alley at the back of
the HouseThat he Believer there was no Person Lived with
Mrs. Bensie and she used to be very much by herself
