That last Thursday Night it was Agreed to have a Bonfire
at King James Stairs there was a Bonfire & a Tar
Barrel was upon itThat Rounce was coming along with
a Beat hook over his shoulder the hook part behind. That
with the Boat hook Rounce beat down the Tar Barret The
Witness desired him to put it up againBelieves Rounce
was going to put it up again but somebody hit him on
the breast with a Serpentknows not who have it Says
it was not the DecedThat upon this Rounce with his Stafff
Struck amongst the Mob & the hook part of the Staff fell upon the head
of the deced & Entred the scull for he wrigled the Staff
to get it out of the head of the Deced & took the Child
between his Legs in order to take the hook out Thinks
Rounce wd. have got away if the Witness & Newton & others had
not seip'd him & that he then [..] Struggled to Get
away after he was downwas Carried to the Watch house
That in going to the Watch house Rounce cried out what
must become of my wife & Cohren

& likewise for the hook to put in on againThat he said
he would put it on himself & Believes he was going to put
it on but a Boy hear'd a Serpent at him & hit him on
the Breast upon wch. he Step'd forward & with his Beat
hook kit Fowler on the Head & saw Brains whom the Hook
was taken out Says he wrigled the Hook to Get it out
