next door but one ot the Deced. saw the beginning of the
Affray between some Venetian Men three in all & two English
Sailors last Monday was fortnight is the forenoon before
LinnerSaw it out of her window. one pair of Stairs
forwardsThat the Venetian were walking quickly along
the Street & said nothing to any bodythat prsently the
two English sailors unknown went after the Venetians &
collar'd one of them & one of the Sailors ask'd what ship he belonged to
& wanted his Stick out of his hand & both said they should
Go along with themThat the Venetian hold up his Stick
& denied it the Sailor but never offer'd to stike or use
itupon wch. the Sailor who collar'd the Venetian said
da [..] yr.bloodEyes will no body bring us any Sticks
upon wch. 14 or 15. Sailors came up to the assistance of
the two Sailors & prsently the Venetian lost his Stick
wch. was a pises of a Broom Stick wch. had four Nails
in the broad and of itthat the Venetians had then
no Stick to Strike withbut the Sailors struck many
blows & she saw the Blood ran down the sides of the
Temple of one of the Venetians who fled to avoid further
Mischief& the Witness (who was then in the Street to look
after her Mother who had her Child in her Arms) Saw
the Venetian run under Mr. Parrys Arm into the
Entry & when the Venetian was safe in the Passage , she
saw one of the Sailors (shd. know him if she saw him
again) strike Mr. Parry upon the head with the Very
Stick wch. she saw in the Hands ofhim take fromthe Venetiansaw
the Blood running down Mr. Parrys Face & saw
some body lead him into his Roomwas much
fightned & cannot say wher. it was Man or Woman
return'd to her room after saying they had killed Mr.
Perryvery take [..] the Blow was intended against
