Ordered that the Clerk to His any Justice Peace of
this County or the City & Liberty of Westmr. be Permittted
to withdraw any Recognizance

Whereas by an Order, of General Quarter, Session of the
Peaceholdenfor this County holden the Day
of April 1716. The Clerks to this Majesty's Justices of
the Peace are required to Send the Recognizances
taken before the said Justices to the Clerk of the
Peace two Days before every Session It is now
Ordered that the said Order be duly Observed for the
future and that the Recognizances taken to Prefer
Indictments at Hicks Hall and to give Evidence thereon at
the Old Bailey be not first sent to the Old Bailey (as hath frequently been done)sentbut to the Clerk of the Peace
as abovementioned in order to be Transmittedand notto the Old Bailey
Sessiontillwith the Indictmentbewhen Preferred and found
according to an Order of Court in that behalf And
toprevent unduethe end that due regan & attention be pd. to the Condn. of Recogn & no corrupt Practise may be used & thatallRecognizancesto Ansr.
at the Sessions of the Peacemay be duly returned it
is Ordered that no Clerk to any Justice of the Peace of his
County or any other Person than the Party bound be Permitted to discharge any Recognizance taken
beforeanySuch Justice but that the Party bound do
Personally Appeal in open Court Pursuant to the Condn. of
Such Recogn. unless hindred by Sickness or other lawful
Excuse to be allowed of by the Court.
