of the County of Middx the first day of October 1754 on the
behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King touching the
Death of a Female Infant

Thomas Harper< no role > of St. John street in the Parish of Saint
Sepulchres in the County of Middx & Carpenter being duly
sworn upon his Oath Saith that on the twenty eighth day of
September last being desired by Bartholomew Flagget< no role >
the Master of Martha Stokes< no role > who had lately been
latelydelivered of a Female Infant that was thrown
down the House of Office in the Yard belonging to the said
Bartholomew Flagget< no role > to search therein for the said
Female Infant And this Depont. Saith that he did
accordingly take up the Flooring belonging to the said
House of Office and in about ten Minitts took up the
Body of the said Female Infant [..]

[..] and further this Depont. Saith tha in
Searching for the said Infant he beleives there was a Stone
or Brick back lay upon the Body before the took it up and
beleives the same was thrown down after the Body of
the Infant was thrown into the said House of Office

Bellows Maker being duly sworn on her Oath Saith that

and that on Thursday the 26th of Septr. last the said [..] Martha Stokes< no role > pretended to be
Ill and had Pains all over her Body upon which this Dept.
advised her to go to bed and she went accordingly and was blooded
on the Fryday Morning and Continued in Bed till the Saturday
Morning and then she the said [..] Martha Stokes< no role > took the Sheets of the Bed
the lay in and went down [..] two pair of Stairs to the
necessary House and this Depont. Seeing her come from it
andaskt her what Business the had there and the answered
