At the General Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the King holden for the County of
Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by adjournment on Wednesday the
twenty ninth day of May in the twenty seventh Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the second King of Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role >
John Defewer< no role > Bartholomew Hammond< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the
King assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear determine divers
Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds committed in the same County.

Upon hearing of the Appeal of the Churchwarden and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Saint Andrew Holborn above the Bars in the County of Middx against an Order or Pass
Warrant under the Hands and Seals of Hamond Crosse< no role > and William Withers< no role > Esquires two of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County (whereof one is of the Quorum)
bearing date the twentieth day of April last whereby Margaret Rake< no role > the Wife of Samuel
Rake
< no role > (who hath deserted her) and her three Children Elizabeth< no role > aged about twelve Years Thomas< no role >
aged about Six Years and Ann aged about two Years were removed from the Parish of Saint
James Clerkenwell in the said County to the said Parish of St. Andrew Holborn above the
Bars as the Place of their last legal Settlement (the hearing and determining of which
Appeal being exhibited at the last General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the
said County by adjournment on Thursday the twenty fifth day of April last past was by an
Order then made by the Court of the same Session of the Peace adjourned untill this Present
General Session of the Peace holden for the said County and the said Appeal was
appointed to be heard on this present Wednesday the twenty ninth day of May instant) And
upon hearing of what was alledged by Mr. Serjeant Hamald Council for the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of St. James Clerkenwell and also by Mr. Lawson of Council for the Churchwarden
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Andrew Holborn above the Bars This
Court doth dismiss the said Appeal and the doth ratify and confirm the aforesaid Order or Pass
Warrant of the said two Justices of the Peace and the same is hereby ratified and
confirmed accordingly.
