in their general Session of the peace
now Assembled

The Humble Petition of Charles Bray< no role >

Sheweth


That your Petr. was at this present Session
Tryed and Convicted for making an Assault on one
Jane Buckley< no role > .

That for such his offence, the Court was pleased
to direct that he should be fined 5. and suffer six
months Imprisonment

That your Petr. is a very Poor man, a maker of
Dolls by profession, has a Wife and family to maintain
and cannot Satisfy and pay the said time without
disposing of his implements in Trade, the doing of which
will be attended with his and their utter Rum, more
Especially that if he should Continue that time in Prison
his Business wontd be intirely Lost.

That your Petr. has made Application to her
prosecutor to make an End with him, but his Demands
are no less than 30 [..] . which all your Petr. has in the World
will not (if he was ever so willing)Enable him to pay.

Your Petr. therefore most humbly
prays your Worships (the premises
considered) to be pleased to release
him from his said Imprisonment
and mitigate his said Fine

And your Petr. shall ever pray Etc.
