The OATHS appointed by Act of Parliament to be
taken by every Freeholder when he gives his Vote, and which will
be administer'd on Thursday the 8th of March , at Brentford

The OATH against Bribery and Corruption.

I A. B. do swear, I have not received, or had by myself, or any
Person whatsoever in Trust for me, or for my Use and Benefit,
directly or indirectly, any [..] or Sums of Money, Office, Place, or
Employment, Gift or Rewa [..] , or any Promile or Security for any
Money, Office, Employment, or Gift, in order to give my Vote at this
Election; and that I have not before been polled at this Election

The OATH of Qualification.

YOU shall swear, That you are a FREEHOLDER in the
County of Middlesex , and have a FREEHOLD Estate,
consisting of (specifying the Nature of such Freehold Estate,
whether Messuage, Land, Rent, Tythe, or what else; and if such Free-
hold Estate consists in Messuages, Lands, or Tythes, then specifying in
whose Occupation the same are; and if in Rent, then specifying the
Names of the Owners or Possessors of the Lands or Tenenents, out of
which such Rent is issuing, or of some or one of them) lying or being at
in the County of Middlesex , of the clear yearly Value of
Forty Shillings, over and above all Rents and Charges payable out of, or
in respect of the same; and that you have been in the actual Posses-
sion or Receipt of the Rents or Profits thereof, for your own Use,
above Twelve Calendar Months, or that the same came to you within
the Time aforesaid, by Descent, Marriage, Marriage Settlement, De-
vise, or Promotion to a Benefice in a Church, or by Promotion to
an Office; and that such Freehold Estate has not been granted or
made to you fraudulently, on purpose to qualify you to give your
Vote; and that the Place of your Abode is at in and
that you are Twenty one [..] you believe; and that you
have not been polled before at this Election.

N. B. By an Act of Parliament of thecoth of Q-Anne18 Geo 2dno Person can vote for a Free
hold, Messuage, Land or Tenement, unless the same is of the yearly Value of 40s. [..]
charged to the Land-Tax: And all Persons taking Money or Reward of any Kind [..]
ever to give his Vote, or to refuse to give his Vote, the Penalty is£500.and is
from voting again, or holding any ci [..] l Office Whatsoever.
