Whereas it appeareth unto us Phillip Willshire< no role > and John
Smith
< no role > Esqs : two of his Majts: Justices of the peace for the said County
(Quor un) residing next unto the Limmits of the Parish Church-
of the Parish of St: Dunstans Stepney in the said County that
Elizabeth Jemours< no role > Singlewoman was on or about the 24th. day of
December last Delivered of a Male Bastard Child in the Hamlett
of Ratcliffe in ye: said Parish not yet Baptized (the said
hamlett haveing a Churchwarden and overseers of the poor and
maintaining their own poor distinctly) which is become Chargea-
ble to the said hamlett, And Whereas it appeareth unto us
the said Justices as well by the Examination of the said Elizabeth
Jemours
< no role > taken on her Oath before us this day as also by divers
other good proofs and Circumstances that one Thomas Luck< no role >
is the only Putative father of the said male Bastard Child
therefore wee the said Justices Do adjudge him the said Thomas.

Child and do order him the said Thomas Luck< no role > to pay or Cause
to be paid unto ye. Churchwardens and Overseers of ye. poor of the
said Hamlett or to some or one of them the Sume of Four
poundsof lawfull money of Great Britain on
Demand thereof the said Sume being Already Disbursed and
paid by the said Churchwarden and overseers of the poor of the
said hamlett for and towards the Maintainance and keeping
of the said Male Bastard Child and other necessary Charge,
thereby accrewed and also wee do order the said Thos. Luck< no role > to
pay or Cause to be paid Weekly and every week from the day of
the date hereof unto the said Churchwarden and Overseers
of the poor of the said Hamlett and their Successors for the time being
or to Some or one of them for and towards Maintainance and
keeping of the said Male bastard Child the Sum of two Shillings
and Six pence per week of like lawfull money and the Payment
thereof to Continue so long as the said Male Bastard Child shall be
a Charge to the said Hamlett (Except the said Thomas Luck< no role > shall
otherwise Discharge the said Hamlett of such Charge and
Burthen as Shall in any manner or wise accrew thereunto by
Reason or means of the said male Bastard Child upon notice of
this our Order) and also that he the said Thomas Luck< no role > shall
pay or Cause to be paid unto the Churchwarden and overseers of the
poor of the said Hamlett for the time being or to Some or one of them
the Sum of Five pounds when the said Bastard Child shall
attain his full age of ten years for and towards the placeing
forth the said male Bastard Child apprentice, to Some lawfull Trade or
Calling Or otherwise to appear at the next Generall Quarter
Sessions of the peace to be holden for the said County And then and
there do and abide such Order as the Justices of the peace present
or the major part of them shall order and make in this behalf
