to Sollicit the matter for him</p>

instead of serving your petr. or regarding<lb></lb>
his promises did make Interest and obtain the employment for himself<lb></lb>
Telling your Petr. Self Interest guided all Men And doth (tho' a Man of<lb></lb>
very good Substance and Estate) continue to Convey the Vagrants by<lb></lb>
persons hired for that purpose, being above doing the Duty himselfe<lb></lb>
and doth receive from this County for his trouble & expences the Salary of<lb></lb>
Sixty pounds per Annu.</p>
<p n="38">That Your Petr. by the Order of the High Constable of Endfield<lb></lb>
hath at his own Costs & Charges Conveyed severall Vagrants, And still<lb></lb>
doth keep a Horse for that purpose: And can perform that Service<lb></lb>
cheaper than the same is now done.</p>
<p n="39">That Your Petr. is desirous and willing to Maintain the great<lb></lb>
Charge of his Family by his Labour & Diligence And verily beleives he<lb></lb>
might have succeeded the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50230_n39-1">John Hewett</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50230_n39-1" type="surname" value="HEWETT"></interp>

's promise of Solliciting for him.</p>
<p n="40">Your petr. therefore most humbly prays the direction of this<lb></lb>
Court, And that the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50230_n40-1">Mackeris</rs>
