Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose Hands and
Seals are hereunto set, two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for theCountyofMiddx(Quorum Unus) by the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish ofSt. Clemt.
Danesaforesaid ThatJohn Davenport< no role >
Anne< no role > his wife & Anne< no role > their Daughter of abt: six years
[..] (by [..] former wife me) [..] lately come into the said Parish
ofSt. Clemt.. Danes endeavouring to Settlethemselvesthere as
three [..] Inhabitants andarelike to be Chargeable therunto, and
havenot [..] bringbrought any Certificate, nor given Notice in
Writing, nor gained any Legal Settlement therein, pursuant and accord-
ing to the several Acts of Parliament in that behalf made;And Whereas
upon the Examination of the saidJohn Davenport< no role > on Oath
we do adjudge the Premises to be true, and that the said Parish of
St Leonard Shoreditch is the Place wherein the saidJohn
Davenport
< no role > waslast Legally Settled: These are therefore, in
His Majesty's Name, to Command you the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the Parish ofSt. Clemt Danes forthwith to Remove
the saidJohn Davenport< no role > Anne< no role > & his wife & Anne< no role >
their his Daughterfrom the Parish ofSt Clemt. Danes
to the Parish ofSt. Leonard Shoreditch aforesaid, (which we
do hereby adjudge to be the Place oftheirlast Legal Settlement)
and deliverthemto the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
there, or to some or one of them, (together with this Precept, or a true
Copy hereof) who are hereby required to receive and provide forthem
astheirSettled Inhabitant there, until they shall be discharged
according to Law
