Whereas Upon reading the humble peticon of Jeremiah
Gilbert
< no role > exhited unto this Court on Tuesday the
eighth day of May instant Setting forth that the
Petr about two yeares since was ingnorantly drawn
in to bind himselfe an Apprentice to william Smith< no role >
of St. James's Clerkenwell in this County Butcher
And that dureing the time he hath been with his said
Master he hath been hardly used, being putt to driving
carts to Brick kills, makeing hay & otherwise not
relateing to the said trade, and hath been kept
Short in dyet & worse in cloaths, haveing had only
three frocks of Slender value, See that he hath not
been fitting to goe to Church as he ought to doe,
And that the Sd. Master is bound to appeare this
present Sessions to answer the Sd. complaint, And the
Petr. praying a Sumons for his sd. Master to attend
this Court to shew cause why the Petr. Should not be
discharged from his said apprenticeship, It was
Ordered by this Court that the said William Smith< no role >
Should have notice of the said peticon, And that he
Should attend this Court on this tenth day of
May instant to shew cause why the sd. Jeremiah
Gilbert
< no role > should not be discharged from his
apprenticehood to the said William Smith< no role > , Now
Upon hearing of What was alledged by the said
Jeremiah Gilbert< no role > & also by the sd. William Smith< no role >
& Mr. Richard Prettie< no role > his Agent, For that the sd. William
