<p n="153">The Comittee whose names are hereunto set to whom amongst other of<lb></lb>
his Maties <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50201_occ44">Justices of the peace</rs>

for this County it was referred by Order of the<lb></lb>
last General Quarter Sessions of the peace held for this County to enquire into<lb></lb>
the truth of the complaint of <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50201_n153-1">Francis Geary</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50201_n153-1" type="given" value="Francis"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50201_n153-1" type="surname" value="Geary"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50201_n153-1" type="gender" value="male"></interp>
and to report the same unto this<lb></lb>
Court with their opinions touching the premises, and in what manner the<lb></lb>
peticoner Geary ought to be redressed (if aggrieved) did proceed to Enquire<lb></lb>
into the said matters to them referred, and had several meetings for that<lb></lb>
purpose And the said Geary's Complaint appeared to be that on the 5th of<lb></lb>
January 1715/16 he came to an Agreement with Mrs Seymore (which was<lb></lb>
reduced into writing and signed by the parties and was produced before the<lb></lb>
Comittee,) whereby, as the said Geary did alledge, he was to receive the Fees<lb></lb>
of the Court at <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50201_geo107">Hicks's Hall</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50201_geo107" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
and the benefit accuring by Licences renewed and<lb></lb>
all other advantages belonging to the Cryer and Housekeeper thereof for so<lb></lb>
long a time as the said Mrs Seymore should enjoy the<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
same for which<lb></lb>
he on his part was to pay her forty pounds then in hand and forty pounds more<lb></lb>
at the Expiration of that year and so Eighty pounds P Anum and to pay her one<lb></lb>
Guinea every Sessions for her Assistance and to defray the expences of the<lb></lb>
Justices Dinners and Servants Wages and to provide Linnen and other<lb></lb>
accomodations. And then alledged that he on his part had performed the<lb></lb>
said Contract throughout. And further that he had been at several<lb></lb>
voluntary charges on her account to which he was no way obliged by the<lb></lb>
same as £16 for Coach hire paid for her and £20 for Law charges in getting her<lb></lb>
possession in the whose 36th which said Items of £16: and £20: the said Geary<lb></lb>
alledged he did agree not to Demand an allowance of Mrs Seymore for; if She<lb></lb>
would perform the Terms of the said written Agreement with him which<lb></lb>
he insisted upon as a Subsisting Agreement at the time of his Complaint and<lb></lb>
therefore prayed that under the same he might be continued in, his Employmt.<lb></lb>
he in such case waving his Demand of the said £36: but that Mrs Seymore<lb></lb>
was dissatisfyed with the terms of the said written contract and demanded<lb></lb>
£110: P Anum rent in breath thereof and also an allowance of the said £20: and<lb></lb>
£16: which the said Geary by no means could pay, and the Comittee having<lb></lb>
thereupon convened before them the said Geary and Mrs Seymore and<lb></lb>
examined them as to the aforesaid matters and having perused and<lb></lb>
considered the said written Agreement did observe that the same was not, as<lb></lb>
Alledged by the said Geary to continue for so long a time as the said Mrs Seymore<lb></lb>
should enjoy the Office of Cryer and House keeper but expresly so long as both<lb></lb>
party's should agree. And it appeared upon the said Examination that at<lb></lb>
or<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
soon after, the expiration of the first year after the making thereof Mrs<lb></lb>
Seymore did depart from the same and demanded other Terms and a<lb></lb>
greater Kent. To Wit £100: P Anum of the said Geary which he complyed<lb></lb>
with (by his Wife who it appeared usually transacted these Affairs for him<lb></lb>
and the said new parol Agreement was executed on both parts for</p>
