To the Worsfull his Maties Justices of the
peace of the County of Middx

The humble Peticon of John Prater< no role > and
William Whitehurst< no role > Churchwardens of the
parish of St Giles in the fields in the said
County on behalf of themselves and other
Inhabitants of the said Parish

Sheweth


That the Highwayes of the said parish are
very much out of repair and will require a
considerable sume of money to repair and amend
the same which cannot be raised without the and
of this Court

Yor Petrs therefore humbly pray that a Rate or
Assessment not exceeding three half pence in the
pound of may be made upon the said Inhabitants
for repairing the said Highwayes according to
the direction of the Act of Parliamt. in that case
made, to be collected by the present Surveyors
of the Highwayes in the said parish And that
the money collected on the said Rate be imployed
and laid out as the Justices of the peace for
this County usually meeting at the speciall
Sessions in the said parish shall direct and
appoint
