Whereas Vice, Debauchery,andAll Sorts of uncleaness and Fornication, have of late
greatly revived, (notwithstanding the Co [..] endable, Zeal and hearty Endeavours of the Worshipfull
Magistracy of this County to discountenance and Punish the Same,) by means and Occasion
of many lend and disorderly publick Houses, where vicious and wicked Persons, Night:Walkers,
and others are entertaind, and constantly resort, for filthy Conversation and Practice; well
knowing that their Evil Deeds are there Secreted and conceald: Which Practices, So Secretly com
-mitted in Such Houses, manifestly tend to the Dishonour of Almighty God, And of the
Christian Religion, to the Ruin of many Youth, and others, And are a reproach to the Inha
-bitants of this County. We therefore the Grand Jury for the body of this County of Middx,
in ordertoremove Such reproach, have, with what Diligence we could, enquired out the
Names of the House:keepers, and the Places where Some Such Houses are kept, to the end
that we might present them unto this Honorble. Court, in Order to their Reformation.
And therefore, We do, upon Our Oaths, most humbly present, That, John Baker< no role > of the
Parish of St. Giles in the fields in this County, Joseph Fenn< no role > of the Said parish.
Elizabeth Dent< no role > of the Said Parish Manaca< no role > als. Monica Canon< no role > of the Said Parish
Rachel Robinson< no role > of the Said Parish. Mary Lacey< no role > of the Said parish James

parish of St Andrews Holborn , in this County; did Severally and respectively on the
first day of February, in the Sixth Year of his present Majesty's Reign , at the Several
Parishes where they Severally reside, herein before Particularly mentioned And for the Space
of three Calendar Months before, and Since the Said day, and to this very day, keep, each
of them, (at the respective Parishes, where by this Presentment they are respectively Said
to reside) Publick Houses, where Comon Disorders, Fornication, Avowtry, and other [..]
of uncleaness are comitted between Men and Women disposed to comit Such wicked Deeds
And they, and every of them, do frequently harbour Night:Walkers, and other Suspected Persons,
whereby [..] any Breaches of the Peace, and other Disorders are frequently comitted. To the dishone [..]
of Almighty God. To the evil Example of all others in like manner offending. To the repro [..]
and disquiet of the Neighbour hood, To the Comon & Publick Nusance of all his Majesty's good
Subjects, And against the peace of our Sovereign Lord the King, his crown, and Dignity. And
We make it our humble request unto this Honourable Court that this our Presentment
may be framed into Severall Bills of Indictment at Comon Law, Severally found by Us,
upon Such of the comissions as this Honble Court shall think fit to direct Witness our hands
at Hicks's Hall this fifth day of March in the Sixth Year of the Reign of our most Gracious
Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God, of Great Britain France & Ireland, King, Defender
of the Faith & Annoq Dom. 1719
