The Humble Peticon of William Gardiner< no role >
Ebenezer Nickoletts< no role > Richard Castle< no role > and
Thomas Lygoe< no role > late Scavengers of the
High Street Precinet within the Parish
of St. Mary White Chappell in the sd. County

Sheweth


That your Petrs. were Chosen in the Office of Scavengers at
Easter 1715 which office was by them faith fully Discharged.

That on the Sixthdayof June last your Petrs. were by
Warrant Called to an Account and appeared accordingly to the Auditors
appointed by the said Warrant And your Petrs. did then make it
appeare to the Worshipfull Justice Sewell and Justice Wickham that
they had disbursed the Sume of £7: 18s: 11d more then they could Collect
of the Inhabitants Where upon in order to Reimburse your Petrs. and
Discharge the Parish of the aforesaid Debt The Parishoners were
pleased to grant the Present Scavengers a Rate (sufficient as hath been
customary when such Small Deficiencys has happened) But they
have refused so to doe or give your Petor. any Satisfaction

Your Petrs. therefore humbly pray your Worships
will be pleased to order the present Scavengers of
the aforesaid precinet to attend this Court some Day
this Sessions to Shew Cause why they refuse to
Reimburse your Petrs. Or that they may be
otherwise Releived in the premisses As to this Court
shall be thought meete.

And your Petrs. shall ever pray Etc
