Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St.Margaret Westmr.
in the County ofMiddx send Greeting.

WHEREAS thereis likely to be aBastard Child,
or Childrenborn within our said Parish, begotten
on the Body ofMary Agin< no role > Singlewoman

And whereasPatrick Lane< no role > Gent
is adjudged to be the Reputed
Fatherof the said Child or Children when born
NOW know ye, That for and in Consideration of the Sum of
Eight Pounds and twelve Shillingsof Lawful Money of Great-
Britain, to us in hand paid by the saidPatrick Cane< no role >
the Receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge; and thereof do
clearly Acquit, Release, and Discharge the saidPatrick Cane< no role >
for ever, by these Presents;
and do promise, for us and our Successors, Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish, to Provide for, take Care of, and Maintain the
Said Childor Children when bornso that the saidPatrick
Cane
< no role > shall, by us and our Successors, Overseers
of the Poor of the said Parish, be for ever hereafter Discharged
from the said Childor Children when born asforesd.and also saved
Harmless and Indemnisied of and from all Charges and Payments
which for ever hereafter might or may be Charged upon him for
or in respectof the sd. Child or Childrenor any Matter relatingthereunto
