The humble peticon of Mary Bates< no role > of the
parish of st Giles without Cripplegate in the
said County Wife of Richard Bates< no role >

Sheweth

That your petitus allowed Eight Shillings p Month as a pention from the
said Parish But for as much as your Petitrs: said Housband having lately had the
misfortune to break his Leg For the Cure of which he is now in st Thomas
Hospitall and your Petitr: having five small Children to Mainteyne and
being turned out of Doors for Nonpayment of her Rent Must Inevitably.
starve without a further Allowance from the said Parish

Your Petitr therefore humbly Prays Your
Worspps will be pleased to order that her
said pention may be Augmented As onto
your Worspps shall seeme Meeke

And Yor Petitr shall ever pray Etc:
