Libty aforesd. in the County aforesd. having mett together & heard the
Complaint of the Church: Wardens & Overseers of the Poor of the
Sd: Pish of St: Margtt: Westmr: concerning a Male Bastard Child
born in the Sd: Pish on the Body of Jane Smith< no role > (then a Single:
woman & known by the Name of Jane Mercer< no role > ) on the Thirteenth
Day of September in the Year One thousand Seven hundred [..]

& other Circumstances Us hereunto moving That the Rt. Honble
James Ld: Douglass< no role > Earle of Morton Did begett on the Body of the
Sd: Jane Smith< no role > the Sd. Male Bastard Child; And doe Adjudge him
the Sd. James Ld. Douglass< no role > Earle of Morton to be the Reputed Father
thereof; And do Order & appoint him the Sd. James Ld: Douglass< no role > Earle
of Morton forthwth. upon Notice of this Our Order to pay to the said
Church: Wardens. & Overseers of the Poor of the Sd. Pish St. Margtt:
Westmr: The Sume of Ten Shillings
of lawfull mony of Great Britain so much being Expended & laid
out by them for the maintenance of the Sd. Male Bastard Child from
the time aforesd. & also to pay or cause to be paid the further
Sume of Two Shillings & Six pence Weekly for & towards the
maintenance of the Sd. Male Bastard Child for so long time Etc.
the Sd. Male Bastard Child Shall remaine Chargeable to the Sd.
Pish. And Lastly Wee Order that the Sd. James Ld. Douglass< no role >
Earle of Morton do give good & Sufficient Security well & truly to
pforme & keep this Our Order; otherwise to give good & Sufficient
Sureties for his Psonall appearance at the next Genll: Quarly
Sessions to be holden for the Libty aforesd. then & the [..]
Answer the Contempt, & to Stand to & abide by such for
