To the Church Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parisher of St James william the
Libty of Westmr my County of Middx. and
to the Church Wardens & Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of St Ethelburga within
Bishopegate in the Citty of London

Whereas it appeareth unto Us Two of her Majties Justices of the
Peace for the sd County and Libty (Quor Un) by Ye Complaint of the
Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St James
Westminster. abovesaid in the sd County that John Walton< no role > and
Anne < no role > his Wife are Lately Intended and Come into ye Sd Parish of St
James end covouring to gain a Settlement there without rentry
a house or Lands of the Value of ten Pounds Petnr Or paying
to Church or Poor or giving Notice to ye Church Wardens & Overseers
of the Poor of the said Parish or any of them of the house Or
place of their abodes in the said Parish as to by Law required
and [..] become Chargeable to the sd Parish of St James & Likely
who Continue if not timely oprevented And Whereas upon the
Examination of the Sd John Walton< no role > Taken upon Oath
and other the best Information Wee can get it appeareth
unto Us that he was a House holder in the Parish of st
Etherburga aforesaid for above two Years & that he Paid [..]
One and thirty Pounds Pcen rent & all manner of Poch [..]
Taxes. and that he has never Since gained any others Legall
Settlement ago wheres Therefore upon the Proof aforesd
Wee do adjudge & declare the Last Lag all Settlement of
the sd John Walton to be in the Parish of St Ethelburga
aforesaid.

These are therefore in her Majties. Name Straitly to Charge &
Command you and every of you for the [..] upon Sigh
hereof to remove and Convey the Sd John Walton &
Ann< no role > his Wife from the Said Parish of St James Welton
the next and Directest Way to the Sd Parish of St Ethelburga
within Bishops Gate in the Citty of London & debwer then [..]
to ye Church Warden and Overseers of the Poor there Or
home. of them who are hereby required to receive & Provide
for them according to Law hereof Hate not Given
under our hands and Seales this 4th. Day of June
Anno Din. 1711
