This Indenture made theTwentythday ofJanuaryin theSeaveath
Year of the Reign of our SoveraignLord William the Thirdby the Grace of God of England,
Scotland, France, and Ireland, KingDefender of the Faith, Etc. Annoq: Dom. 1695 Witnesseth, That
Thomas Brooks< no role > and Joseph Reddall< no role > Church-Wardens of the Parish ofSouthmyme
in theCountyofMiddxand
Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish, by and with the consent oftheMajesties Justices of the Peace, for the saidCounty of Middx
whose Names are hereunto subscribed, have put and placed, and by these Presents do put and placeRobert Archer< no role > a poor Child
of the said Parish, Apprentice toJohn Archer< no role > of the Parish of Endfield in the said County of Middx Gardner With himto dwell and
serve from the day of the Date of these Presents, untill the said Apprentice shall accomplish hispower, wit, and ability; and honestly,
according to the Statute in that case made and provided; During all which term, the said
Apprentice hissaid Masterfaithfully shall serve in all lawfull Businesses, according to hispower, wit, and ability; and honestly,
orderly and obediently in all things demean and behave himself towards hissaid Masterand all hisduring the said term.
And the saidJohn Archer< no role > for him-self, hisExecutors and Administrators, doth Covenant and Grant to and with the said
Church Wardens and Overseers, and every of them, their and every of their Executors and Administrators, and their and every of their
Successors, for the time being, by these Presents, That the saidJohn Archer< no role > the said Apprentice inthe Art and Trade
of a Gardner Shall teach and instructAnd shall and will, during all the
term aforesaid, find, provide and allow unto the said Apprentice, meet, competent and sufficient Meat, Drink and Apparel, Lodging Wash
ing, and all other things necessary and fit for an Apprentice. And also shall and will so provide for the said Apprentice, that-hebe not
any way a charge to the said Parish, or Parishioners of the same; but of and from all charge, shall and will save the Parish and Parishio-
ners harmless and indempnified during the said term. And at the end of the term, Shall and will make, provide, allow and deliver un-
to the said Apprentice double Apparel of all sorts, good and new, (that is to say) a good new Suit for the Holy-days, and another for the
Working-days. In Witness whereof, the Parties abovesaid to these present Indentures interchangeably have put their Hands and Seals
the day and year above-Written.

We whose Name are Subscribed, Justices of the Peace of the
County of Middxaforesaid do(as in Much as nine lye)consent
to the putting forth of the abovesaidRobert Archer< no role >
Apprentice , according to the intent and meaning of the Indenture abovesaid.
