The humble Peticon of Thomas Braint< no role > of the
parish of Hendon in the sd. County.

That at Easter last yor. Petr. was chosen One of the Ovseers of the Poore of the sd.
Parish But forasmuch as your Petr. being aged (64) Yeares or thereabouts and very weake
in Body and being much afflicted with great Disorders in his Head which causes
a Violent Burning heat in his Eyes [..] that your petr. humbly conceives himselfe
wholly uncapeable of Serving the sd Office.

Yor Petr. therefore most humbly Prayes yor
Whorspps to be pleased to Grant that heyour
petr.
may be Discharged from Serving the sd.
Office and that the Inhabitants may proceed
to chase such other Poor in his Roome to
Serve the same as unto your Worspps grave
wisdomes & Discretcons shall be thought
most meet
