Sheweth


The humble Peticon of the Inhabitants of the Parish of St
Leonard Shoreditch whose names are hereunder Subscribed in
the behalf of themselves and other Inhabitants of the Same
Parish aggrieved

That the Prsent Ovrseers of the Poore of the sd Parish In Combinacon with Some of the
Antient Inhabitants thereof have unequally rated the Contributions of money for the
releife of the poore of the parish for the Yeare ensueing without haveing regard
to the rateing of personall Estates in Goods browne but have proceeded in the [..]
Taxation according to a pound Rate on Rent referred only by which your Petr.
are greived for that every person (by the Lawes of this Realive) ought to be
rated according and in proporcon to his Justice Sab Stained within the sd. parish
aswell as by the pound Rate

Wherefore yor. Petr. humbly Pray that the Sd. Ovrseers and others
prsent all the makeing of the sd. Rate may be warned to attend
this Court to Shew cause why there Should not be a new Rate
made with respect by person all Estate & not collect by a
Pound Rate only.

And Yr. Pr. (as in duty bound) Shall ever Pray Etc
