The Sevtt. Informacons of Alice Roberts< no role > , John Loyd< no role > & Humfrey Staples< no role >
taken upon Oath before James Cardrow < no role > Esq One of his Majties Justices of the
Peace for the sd County this third Day of May And Dui 1695 .

Alice Roberts< no role > sayes that last Sunday being the 28th. past Joseph Royle< no role > & another Man brought
Each of them a Horse virt. the sd Royle a Bay Nagg and the other Man a Black
balld Hone Horse wth. 3 while feel to her Horse in Islington when this Depont.
was at Diner, wth. Horses stood in her stable all night. Next morning a
third Man same & tooke away the Bay paying for it Etcthat the sd Balld Horse
stood in her stable till this Day abt 7 in the Eventhat the sd Royle had
sevtt. Times for & on the Behalfe of another Man offered to sell the sd Balld to this
Dept promising her if she gave him a reward to intercede for her being
kindly used, and after sevll. words consented to gee to the signe of the
Mayden head in Old Fish street Lond : to meet the Own in order to Bargaine
for & have the sd Horse tolld. where the sd Royle & one Harris afs
Harrison the prtended. Owner met the Dept & agreed for yll: & to give halfe a Crown Earnest in yt. of Paymt: but the sd Royle & the sd Harrison
prtending to be strainges Etc made Excuses being loath to trouble House Keeps
to vouch the doll of the sd Horse, as required, but offered a Bond of yll.
for her severity Etc wth. this Dept. not approving of was unwilling to part
wth. her money suspecting the sd Balld Horse to be stolen Etc and farther this
Dept. sayes not

John Loyd< no role > sayes that last Sunday att the time aforesd the sd Jos. Royle< no role > Brot. a Bay Nagg
att it Hand Etc and another Man Brot. a black Balld as abovesd to his Mistress
the sd Robss her stable where they stood all night, the sd Royle ordering this
Dept. to putt the best saddle (wth. had been on the sd Balld) upon the sd Bay (being
in a poor & ill Case) Ready for the other Man agst. next mom which
this Dept. did accordinglythat next mom a third man came &
tooke away the sd Bay paying for it Etcthat the sd Balld Horse stood
at the sd Robss [..] till abt y of the clock this Even, and farther this
Dept sayes not

Humfrey staples< no role > sayes that having heard something of the sd Balld Horse went
to the sd Robtey prtending to buy a calfe, but designing to view the sd
Balld well Etc. and seeing the sd Royle in Islington aforesd going
wth. the sd Balld to Lond : this Dept. askd the sd Royle whether the sd Balld
was to be sold to wth. the sd Royle answered yes & offered to sell the sd Balld
to this Dept. asking him wth. for it Owning the sd Balld to be his owne
Etc but this Dept: suspecting him Etc wheedled the sd Royle to on
John Barns< no role > 's in Islington aforesd knowing him to be a litle more
skillfull & accustomed to deale wth suspected Persons than this Dept.
wth. a designe to pump what they could out of the sd Royle. That the
sd Balld is barely 4 yeare old & thinks he may be worth more money
than is askd for him Etcthis Dept. farther sayes that the sd Royle
