Order for placing
sufficient Watches
& Wards in Cowley.

& Hillingdon
}
Upon Information given unto this Court that divers Robberys and
Burglarys have lately been comitted near Cowley Street in the Parish
of Hillingdon
in this County for want of a Sufficient Watch to be
kept there for prevention whereof Itt is thought fitt and Ordered by
this Court that the Present Constables and Headboroughs of the said
Parish of Hillingdon
doe from the time of Notice given them of this Order
untill the First day of March next place and Sett a sufficient watch to
Consist of one Constable or Head bro' and three able men att the House
of
Roger West< no role >
in Cowley Street
aforesaid and that they doe continue to
keep their Watch at the Redlyon in Hillingdon
to consist of the like or
greater Number of Persons as formerly hath been used to be upon the
said Watch and that the Inhabitants of the said Parish of Cowley
does
Contribute to the said Watch to be kept in Cowley Street aforesaid by
sending one Sufficient Person one night in every week to be upon the
said Watch and hereof the said Constables and Headboroughs are not
to Fail as they as every of them will Answer the contrary att their
Peril.
