Upon a full hearing & debate of the appeal between the
Churchwarden and Overseers of the poor of the pish
of St Martins in the feilds and the Overseers of the
poor of the pish of St Pauls Covent garden in this
County concerning the last legall settlemt of Mary Clarke< no role > als
Hewett< no role > a poor impotent pson who was lately passed
by order under the hands and seals of Ralph
Marshall< no role > Esqr and Andrew Lawrence< no role > Esqr two of the
Maties Justices of the peace for this County from the said
parish of St Paul Covent garden to the said pish of
St Martins in the feilds alledging that the said Mary
Clerk< no role > als Hewett< no role > was legally setled there Itt appeareth
to this Court upon examinacon of sevall witnesses upon
oath in the prsence of the said pties that the said Mary
Clarke< no role > als Hewett< no role > had noe legall settlement in the said
pish of St Martins in the feilds but was married to a soldier
whose last settlement could not now be proved Itt is therefore
thought fitt and ordered by this Court that the said Mary
Clerk< no role > als Hewett< no role > be forthwith removed & conveyed from
the said pish of St Martins in the feilds to the said pish
of St Paul Covent garden and that she be left with
the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor there or one
of them who are hereby required to received the said Mary
Clarke< no role > als Hewett< no role > into their care and pvide for her as for
